Christmas Mystery 1999 – Part 3

1.  This month, we will be putting everything together. You may choose to make a table topper or a tree skirt.

2.  Sew the paper pieced blocks into six lengthwise strips (each strip will consist of 5 sections, some strips will have background fillers):

a. 4 1/2 " background square – N – O – E – L
b. P – E – A – C – E
c. Background square – J – O – Y – background square.
d. Five Trees
e. Background square – four stars
f. Background square – three candles – background square

 

 

3.  Assemble the triangle sections from month one as shown in the diagram below.

 

 

 

 


4.  If you choose to make a table topper, cut six 4 1/4" triangles, using the attached template or your Sara Nephew ruler, sewing them to the top of each strip. This section will be omitted, if you choose to make a tree skirt. The assemble the triangle sections to the strip sections, as shown in the diagram below. If your choice is a tree skirt, for an artificial tree, all sections will be joined, for a live tree, an opening will be left, so your tree skirt will fit around your tree.

 

 

 

 

 

 


5. Make a "quilt sandwich", using your favorite batting, and backing. Bind your quilt and Hooray! You are finished.
